ELIM School in Windhoek
Renovating the sports field!!!
We would like to introduce you to Elim Primary School in Khomasdal, a district of Windhoek. The school has around 1,250 students aged between 6 and 15.
As Khomasdal is predominantly home to lower-income families, the school only has limited financial resources. This became particularly clear to us when we looked at the sports equipment and the condition of the sports fields.
The school currently only has four flat balls and a few cones. The sports surfaces consist of pebbles, broken pieces and poorly finished stone slabs. This condition significantly increases the risk of injury for the children. In addition, the inadequate equipment makes it almost impossible to introduce the students to different sports.
In order to improve the situation in the long term, the school has set itself the goal of building a new grass pitch and bringing the range of sports equipment up to an appropriate level. First of all, an irrigation system is required. This requires pipes and water pumps to be laid. The turf is then laid.
To achieve this goal, we need YOUR support. Your donation will enable the school to provide safe and child-friendly sports lessons in the long term. At the same time, you will be promoting teamwork, fitness, health and the idea of fair play among the students.
